Martino’s Restaurant is a family operated restaurant that has been open for over 40 years. Plenty of customers, that were greeted by first name, entered as I prepared to eat myself.

The menu at Martino’s is comprised of seasoned appetizers, robust wines, pasta and fresh catch froms the sea. They believe in “a change in the weather”, and offer a dozen of weekly combinations. Dinners include your choice of a House Salad or Soup, and one or two sides. There pizzas comes in several crust options and shapes. This is very convenient if your ordering carryout for small or large groups.
I ordered the handmade lasagna with some toasted bread and an italian Perino for my beverage. The plating was so well that I wanted to preserve the food. The lasagne was cradled by a sweet and savory sauce. The Pasta itself, was so fluffy I thought I might bite thru the plate. The cheese was gooey and rich but light as a feather.
The Sauteed Veal Marsala and the Broiled Halibut Oreganato, really stood out to me. The veal, served with sauteed mushrooms and onions, is also sauteed with a hint of Marsala wine. Can you say, mouthwatering! Martino’s soaks its’ halibut in a, lemon and oregano, marinate. Then, it is fried in those same juices that have given it such flavor. They are the golden pick on my next visit to West Peterson Avenue.

On the Meal versus Deal radar, Martino’s gets two and a half stars. While a outstanding dine for anniversary or date night, a full course meal will run you 15 to 20 dollars. Ordering a homemade pizza is a excellent way to take care of the kids, while enjoying a candle lit dinner with your spouse.
Overall the food was so exquisite, that I cleaned my plate wanting to capture all the flavorful juices. I have never visited Italy myself, but I feel like I had an authentic taste in Martino’s.
