Priscilla’s Ultimate Soul Food

Wham, bam, thank-you maam!

Catfish, Mac N Cheese, Sweet Potatoes, Corn Bread

Priscilla’s is located at 4330 Roosevelt Road, Hillside, IL, 60162. If your looking for down home southern cooking they sport an assortment of entrees and sides that made my eyes bulge.

MY PLATE

  • Fried Catfish: The catfish was very lightly fried. I wanted to punish myself for adding condiments.
  • Sweet Potatoes: The sweet potatoes were completely covered in a thick candied sauce. The consistency was perfect outside as well as inside.
  • Mac N Cheese: Extremely creamy mac n cheese. The flavors caused me to question my own mother’s recipe.
  • Corn Bread: Very pretty yellow color on top and a even brown color on bottom. This came out of the oven at just the right time.

This is the usual layout at Priscilla’s.

  • THE MEAT: ribs, chicken, fish meatloaf, and pot roast
  • THE SIDES: Cabbage, candied yams, mac n cheese, corn, green/pinto/navy beans, rice, dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, spaghetti, collard greens
What would dinner be like with no dessert?

BUT WAIT THERE’S MORE

My overall experience at Priscilla’s was very enjoyable. If you’re looking for some downhome southern cooking, this is the place where you would end your adventure. There plates are set up as combos, which usually consist of a main entrée, two sides, a side, and a dessert. This entire buffet is at your disposal for around $20. I think of this as a great spot to have a nice dinner on a date night.
